T-Mobile and Google today announced the launch of the world’s first Android-powered mobile phone: T-Mobile G1. Available soon only for T-Mobile customers spanning two continents, the T-Mobile G1 combines full touch-screen functionality, a trackball for one-handed navigation, a QWERTY keyboard, plus access to mobile Web applications like Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps Street View and more.

T-Mobile G1 brings the following features: 3G (with dual-band UMTS), quad-band GSM support, Wi-Fi, GPS functionality, Bluetooth, e-mail support (Gmail as well as other POP3 and IMAP e-mail services), multimedia messaging, instant messaging (with Google Talk as an option of course), a full HTML browser, a 3-megapixel camera, the ability to multitask, a music player with access to the Amazon MP3 store, one-click contextual search.

HTC Touch Viva will soon be available in Taiwan, HTC’s home country, via Taiwan’s third largest mobile carrier Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET).

The Touch Viva is not a high-end Pocket PC, but it’s still a pretty nice device.

Coming with a similar design with the old HTC Touch, the Touch Viva brings the following features: a 2.8 inch TFT QVGA touchscreen display, TouchFLO User Interface, Windows Mobile 6.1. Wi-Fi, Media player, Pocket Office, a 2 Megapixel camera and so on.

HTC Touch Pro Pocket PC will soon be available in Taiwan, HTC’s home country, via Taiwan’s third largest mobile carrier Far EasTone.

Officially presented at the beginning of June, HTC Touch Pro is almost the same device as the HTC Touch Diamond, it brings the following features: a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out horizontally, a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen with a VGA resolution (480 x 640 pixels), TouchFLO 3D User Interface, a 3.15 Megapixel camera with auto focus, Wi-Fi, internal GPS, TV out, expandable memory and so on.

BlackBerry Storm, the first BlackBerry touchscreen smartphone, will soon be released by Verizon Wireless. It is said that the new Storm’s features is greater than the Apple’s iPhone.

The full-touch device’s display size and resolution are not yet known, but Verizon states that it is “one of the largest, highest resolution screens in the wireless industry.” So, it might have a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, like Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 and HTC’s new Touch HD.

Verizon Wireless is getting ready to launch a new RIM smartphone, BlackBerry 9530 Storm. The smartphone seems to be the same as what was previously known under the name of BlackBerry Thunder or BlackBerry 9500. It’s RIM’s first touchscreen device and it should hit the market by the end of 2008.

A recently leaked image gives us precious details about the smartphone: an 8GB microSD card and a 3.5mm headset jack. These aspects aside, the BlackBerry Storm should be a great multimedia device, but little is known about its actual capabilities.

LG KC910, a high-end touchscreen handset, will apparently be launched in October. Being the successor of the popular Viewty, the KC910 camera phone comes with an 8 megapixel camera.

KC910’s camera features Schneider-Kreuznach lens, auto focus, xenon flash, VGA video recording (at 30fps), lens cover and geotagging.

Besides having 8 Megapixels, LG KC910 will bring the following: a 3 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 400 pixels, Flash User Interface, Dolby technology for an exquisite audio experience, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), Bluetooth 2.0, internal GPS, Wi-Fi, TV out, DivX support and so on.

The retail price of LG KC910 is not known for the moment, but LG should announce it pretty soon.

Samsung Tocco (aka Samsung TouchWiz, aka Samsung F480), a fashionable touchscreen phone, will be released via T-Mobile USA.

The new Tocco might be named “Samsung Roxy” or “Samsung T919″, according to TmoNews.

Measuring only 98.4 x 55 x 11.6 millimeters (3.87 x 2.16 x 0.45 inches) and weighing 106 grams (3.74 ounces), Samsung Tocco brings the following features: a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with 262K colors, 240 x 320 pixels and haptic feedback, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, face detection, image stabilizer, flash and video recording, a new TouchWiz User Interface with widget support, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, built-in GPS (voice command included), Wi-Fi, Music and Video players, FM radio with RDS, 232MB of internal memory (expandable up to 8GB), full HTML browser, email, Instant Messaging, document viewer and a 1000 mAh that should offer up to three hours in talk-time mode or up to 250 hours in stand-by mode.

Touch Diamond is said to hit Sprint’s stores on August 28. Sprint will apparently release the new HTC in a CDMA red edition. The red HTC Touch Diamond is a bit thicker than the GSM one.

Besides the slightly changed look, there is only one other difference between the GSM and the CDMA Touch Diamond: the new red one comes with a better battery of 1350 mAh.

HTC Touch Diamond touchscreen smartphone features a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with 640 x 480 pixels (VGA), 4GB of built-in memory, Windows Mobile 6.1, GPS, Wi-Fi and so on.

Motorola Atila Windows Mobile Touchscreen Phone Leaked

Motorola Atila, a new high-end Moto handset, appeared on BGR.

The new touchscreen handset will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

The design of Motorola Atila is somehow a mix between Apple’s iPhone, BlackBerry Bold and LG Dare.

It will bring the following features: quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, and tri-band HSPA connectivity (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz), a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels, Wi-Fi, a Qualcomm 7201A chipset and a 1130 mAh battery of unknown (yet) performances.

Motorola Atila is said to measure 109 x 60 x 13.8 millimeters (4.29 x 2.36 x 0.54 inches).

For the moment, we can’t say when Motorola fully unveils the new Atila.

Motorola Alexander should be available before year’s end. It will be indeed a touchscreen device, as rumored.

The features of Moto Alexander are said to be the following: a full QWERTY keyboard, a high-end camera, of at least 5 Megapixels, Windows Mobile 6.1, an NVIDIA chip, internal GPS and 3G connectivity, document viewer and editor, Outlook email and all its other useful features.

According to the rumors, Motorola Alexander should be officially announced in the next few moths, while the handset’s commercial availability is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008.
