T-Mobile and Google today announced the launch of the world’s first Android-powered mobile phone: T-Mobile G1. Available soon only for T-Mobile customers spanning two continents, the T-Mobile G1 combines full touch-screen functionality, a trackball for one-handed navigation, a QWERTY keyboard, plus access to mobile Web applications like Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps Street View and more.
T-Mobile G1 brings the following features: 3G (with dual-band UMTS), quad-band GSM support, Wi-Fi, GPS functionality, Bluetooth, e-mail support (Gmail as well as other POP3 and IMAP e-mail services), multimedia messaging, instant messaging (with Google Talk as an option of course), a full HTML browser, a 3-megapixel camera, the ability to multitask, a music player with access to the Amazon MP3 store, one-click contextual search.
