Sony Ericsson R306a Radio Phone Approved by FCC

Sony Ericsson R306a was recently approved by the FCC. Announced at the beginning of the year, the new R306a is the American version of R306.

Coming in a radio-like clamshell form factor, Sony Ericsson R306/R306a radio phone brings the following features: 850 / 1800 / 1900 MHz GSM connectivity, AM and FM RDS radio receiver and transmitter, dedicated external keys and stereo speakers with 3D sound enhancement, a 1.9 inch TFT internal display with 128 x 160 pixels, a 96 x 32 pixel monochrome external display, Music player, TrackID, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, WAP browser, email, SMS, MMS, handsfree, Java MIDP 2.0, T9 predictive text input, stopwatch, alarm clock, only 5MB of built-in memory and no microSD card slot, and a 930 mAh battery that should last up to 9 hours in talk-time mode or up to 410 hours in stand-by mode.

FCC approved Sony Ericsson R300 recently, so it will be available in the US soon.

Sony Ericsson R300 was first unveiled at the beginning of 2008 with the R306 model. The R300 is one of the Sony Ericsson’s Radio series handsets. It comes in a candybar form factor. Weighing 75 grams and measuring 101 x 46 x 12 millimeters, the R300 packs a 1.8 inch display with 65K colors and 128 x 160 pixels, a VGA camera, 8MB of internal memory, dedicated radio speakers and AM and FM frequencies, Music player, TrackID music recognition, 3D audio enhancements, WAP 2.0/xHTML browser, email capabilities, USB, GPRS, Bluetooth, Image viewer and editor, a 9 hours of talk-time / 400 hours of stand-by time battery and so on.
