Nokia has announced the upcoming availability of the N96 Nseries flagship across North America. The North American N96 smartphone (aka N96 NAM) will be on sale in “the fourth quarter of 2008″ with a retail price for 895 USD (about 616 Euros).

The exact release date for Nokia N96 NAM is not known yet.

The difference between the North America N96 and the European/Asian version of the smartphone consists in the fact that the first has support for the 850 / 1900 HSDPA frequencies, while the other one works on the 900 / 2100 frequencies.

Other than that, the handsets are perfectly the same, offering one of the widest range of features ever packed in a Symbian smartphone: a 2.8 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, a 5 Megapixel Carl Zeiss auto focus camera, 16GB of internal memory, high-end multimedia capabilities, GPS, Wi-Fi, TV-out, full HTML browser and so on.

Nokia N96 will be first released in India, and the Indian division of Nokia said that Indian users would be able to buy the new smartphone starting September. The retail price of the N96 smartphone will be about 36,000 INR (526 Euros or 828 USD).

Nokia N96 comes with a dual-sliding design and runs on Symbian S60 3.2 Edition.

The new Nseries smartphone brings the following features: a 2.8 inch TFT display with QVGA resolution and 16 million colors, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with flash, Carl Zeiss optics and video recording, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi, a huge internal memory of 16GB, a microSD or microSDHC card, Media player with lots of formats supported, a 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio with RDS, TV out and DVB-H TV receiver, full HTML browser, email, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and many others.

Nokia N96 has just been approved by the FCC and is now ready to be available across the US.

The new smarpthone should be released pretty soon, maybe even before the end of August.

Presented by Nokia at the beginning of 2008, the N96 smartphone brings the following features: a 2.8 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, a 5 Megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, 16GB of internal memory (expandable up to 32GB), GPS, Wi-Fi, accelerometer, full HTML browser, email and IM, Music and Video players, DVB-H TV receiver, TV out, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, stereo FM radio with RDS, a 3.5mm headset jack, quad-band GSM connectivity and dual-band HSDPA connectivity (850 / 2100 for North America).

Nokia N96 to be Available in the UK

Nokia N96 smartphone will be available across the UK starting the 1st of October.

According to Pocket-lint, the smartphone will be on sale via four British operators (T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange and 3) as well as via two retailers (Phones4U and Carphone Warehouse), for a price of around 550 Euros. Of course, the four mentioned carriers will also offer the N96 on contract, hence for much less than 430 GBP.

First unveiled back in February, the N96 high-end handset seems to be the best Nokia handset ever.

Measuring 103 x 55 x 18 millimeters, the smartphone brings the following features: quad-band GSM and dual-band HSDPA connectivity, Symbian 9.3 S60 3.2 Edition, a 2.8 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, a 5 Megapixel camera with Carl auto focus, Zeiss optics, flash and video recording, 16GB of internal memory (expandable up to 24GB), GPS and A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Music and Video players, a 3.5mm headset jack, DVB-H TV, TV out, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, full HTML browser, email, document viewer, accelerometer and a battery that can offer up to 3.6 hours of talk-time or up to 220 hours of stand-by time.

Nokia N96 was first announced at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona. A leading European Mobile phone retailer, Carphone Warehouse, lists Nokia N96 on its UK website with the mention “Expected: August 2008″. If it is true, the next Nseries flagship, Nokia N96, will be available in August 2008.

Nokia announced its new Nokia N96 handset at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Spain. It is a multimedia computer that optimized for video and TV. Nokia N96 features a 2.8 inches screen, a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 16 GB internal memory, a microDS card slot, Windows Media Video (can deliver high-quality videos in a wide range of formats), Flash Video, a 3.5 mm headphone connector, built-in 3D stereo speakers, USB 2.0, WLAN, HSDPA, integrated DVB-H receiver in select markets, A-GPS.
