HTC has gone official with its Touch HD Pocket PC, a multimedia phone that brings more features than the Touch Diamond.

Measuring 115 x 62.8 x 12 millimeters and weighing 146.5 grams, the Touch HD brings the following features: a 3.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with a Wide-VGA (WVGA) resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, dual-band HSDPA connectivity (900 / 2100 MHz) for data transfer speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, a 3.5mm audio jack, HTC TouchFLO 3D interface to cover Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.1, a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM720 processor, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, 512 MB of Flash memory, 288 MB of RAM and a slot for microSD or microSDHC cards.

The Pocket PC brings a 1350 mAh battery which should be able to last up to 390 minutes in talk-time mode or up to 450 hours in stand-by.

The price of HTC Touch HD is not known, for the moment, it should be available in the last quarter of 2008, first via major European carriers.

Sanyo Katana Eclipse, a new mid to low-end clamshell, is now available from Sprint.

Presented as a multimedia phone, the new Katana Eclipse comes with “40 different lighting effects,” including pulse, echo, blink and multi-color patterns. These can be assigned to messages, incoming calls, playing music and various alerts.

It also brings the following features: a 2 inch TFT internal display with 176 x 220 pixels and 65K colors, a 1-inch external display, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, internal GPS, Bluetooth, Sprint TV, Sprint Music Store, Sprint Radio, Web and email capabilities, speakerphone, expandable memory and an 840 mAh battery said to last up to 4.6 hours in talk-time mode.

Sanyo Katana Eclipse weighs 3.4 ounces, measures 3.6 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches.

The new clamshell costs $99.99, with a contract agreement for two years. The retail price is $299.99.

PhoneArena shows us some leaked images of the LG Vu for AT&T. This multimedia phone will come in two versions: the CU920 (with mobile TV antenna), the CU915 (without mobile TV antenna). Both versions of the LG Vu feature a 3-inch WQVGA 262K color touchscreen, a 2.0-megapixel camera, 120MB internal memory, microSD card support up to 4GB, HSDPA connectivity, USB connectivity, HTML web browser and so on.

LG KP320 comes in a nice candybar form, and features a 2 inch 262k colors TFT display with a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash, digital zoom and video recording, 80 MB of internal memory, microSD card support for up to 4 GB, Music and video player, FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, Internet and email capabilities, TV out, document viewer, speakerphone, a 900 mAh Li-Ion battery, and so on. It measures 107 x 46 x 13.5 mm and weighs only 81 g.

Nokia announced its new Nokia N96 handset at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Spain. It is a multimedia computer that optimized for video and TV. Nokia N96 features a 2.8 inches screen, a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 16 GB internal memory, a microDS card slot, Windows Media Video (can deliver high-quality videos in a wide range of formats), Flash Video, a 3.5 mm headphone connector, built-in 3D stereo speakers, USB 2.0, WLAN, HSDPA, integrated DVB-H receiver in select markets, A-GPS.

It runs on Symbian S60 3rd edition, and features a 16,000,000 colors TFT display with a 240×320 pixels resolution, a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a microSD memory card slot, music player, FM radio, A-GPS, Nokia Maps, WLAN, high-speed HSPDA 3G connectivity.

Nokia N78 will be available in the second quarter of 2008.
