Users in Hong Kong will be able to purchase the unlocked 3g iPhone directly from Apple, without having to worry about the device being locked in any network. .
The 8GB iPhone costs $5,400 HK (692 US dollars), while the price of 16GB model is $6,200 HK (794 US dollars). According to Apple, iPhones in Hong Kong can be “activated with any wireless carrier,” the only requirement being that a carrier’s SIM card be installed prior to syncing with iTunes 8.

Apple has issued a recall for the Ultracompact USB Adapter that coming with the new Apple iPhone 3G for charging. It seems that the power Adapter’s design is somewhat faulty and the prongs that plug into a wall receptacle can break off and stay in the wall. This causes a risk of shock.
Apple has determined that under certain conditions the new ultracompact Apple USB power adapter’s metal prongs can break off and remain in a power outlet, creating a risk of electric shock. We have received reports of detached blades involving a very small percentage of the adapters sold, but no injuries have been reported.

Play ‘Em, a young company appeared out of nowhere, have just released their first game called Touch ‘Em for iPhone or iPod Touch.

iPhone Firmware 2.1 has been hacked by the Dev Team. So far, this hack uses QuickPwn and Pwnage tools for the Mac only. It’s not confirmed if it works on the new iPod Touch 2G as the Dev Team doesn’t have one yet. They have also claimed the rumors of iTunes 8 blocking the pwn is not true and there is still a way.

Categories is an app that allows you to organize iPhone or iPod Touch’s icons into categories. Instead of scrolling through pages of apps you can have one icon for games and then all your games show under one menu. Categories is available in Cydia for free.

The Spore Origins allows players to try to survive as a multicellular organism in a tide pool, with the ability to upgrade its creature as with the main game.

A leaked video of an early build of the iPhone / iPod touch application reveals that the 2.0 version offers many more features than before.
New features include:
view your friend’s playlists and favourite songs;
