Nokia has been working on a method of indoor GPS positioning that should make it easier to navigate a new office building or a sprawling shopping mall.
Nokia is already trialling the indoor GPS service in 40 buildings within its headquarters in Espoo, Finland. A commercial trial will launch later this year at a shopping mall in Helsinki.
The application could be available through Nokia’s public Beta Labs site later this year.

Nokia 6210 Navigator will be released in the middle of this summer. It was first announced in February, during MWC 2008.
Measuring 103 x 49 x 14.9 millimeters and weighing 117 grams, Nokia 6210 Navigator packs a 2.4 inch display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, quad-band GSM, dual-band UMTS and dual-band HSDPA connectivity, Nokia Maps 2.0, built-in accelerometer, geotagging, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video, 120MB internal memory, microSD card support for up to 8GB, Media player, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and so on.
Nokia 6210 Navigator will cost about $465 with a free GPS navigation license for 6 months.

The Verizon XV6900 Touch, CDMA version of the HTC Touch phone, has been announced recently. It runs on Windows Mobile 6 OS, and is powered by a TI OMAP 850 201 Mhz processor. This GPS-enabled smartphone features a 2.8-inch Touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera, 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM, a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, EV-DO and so on.

PartFoundry’s locoGPS module works with iPhone’s integrated Google Maps though an EDGE connection, may add the GPS functionality to the jailbreaked iPhone as well as the iPod Touch. The locoGPS is based on the SiRF Start III GPS chipset.
