The iPhone 3G should be available on July 11. But an iPhone fan from Portugal has already gotten his hands on a 8GB iPhone 3G and posted several pics with it
on the iPhone Portugal forum.
The iPhone fan said that he (or she) did not buy the shiny iPhone 3G, since there’s no place to buy it from yet, hence it might be a unit illegally taken from a store.

The iPhone 3G is getting closer and closer. Some operators have recently announced the prices and data plans that will come with this new handset. One of the most attractive offers, until now, seems to be the one of Hutchison 3 which, in Hong Kong. This operator will offer the iPhone 3G even for free, with an unlimited data plan and for a decent monthly fee.
More exactly, Hutchison will offer 8GB iPhone 3G for free, if users sign a contract agreement for two years and pay a monthly fee of 498 HKD (around 64 USD or 41 Euros). This includes unlimited data transfers as well as 2200 airtime minutes. The 16GB version of the iPhone 3G will cost 138 HKD (around 18 USD or 11 Euros) with the same data plan. This plan is obviously more advantageous than the one AT&T is offering the new iPhone for (in the US), which requires $199 for the handset as well as 69 USD per month for two years.

iPhone 3G was announced at the WorldWide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. The new iPhone is available in two versions: 8GB and 16GB. The 8GB iPhone 3G only costs $199, but is it really cheaper than the original one?
Let’s look at the math.
Old iPhone: $399 (for 8GB of storage), plus $60 per month for 450 voice minutes and unlimited data. Two-year total (since you’ll be signing a two-year deal for either handset): $1,839.
New iPhone: $199 (for 8GB of storage), plus $70 per month for a basic voice plan (presumably the same 450 minutes) and unlimited data. Two-year total: $1,879.

Apple has confirmed that the 3G iPhone will be available worldwide on June 9th. Pricing has not yet been announced.
We all suspected it, but now it is confirmed: someone very, very close to the 3G iPhone launch has told me that Apple will announce their new model at the WWDC Keynote on June 9th. The second-generation iPhone will be available worldwide right after the launch, and not at year’s end, as previously thought. The new model will also herald new sales policies in some countries.
