iPhone 3G Will Soon be Available in 23 Countries

iPhone 3G, the second-generation iPhone, was confirmed at the WorldWide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. Apple also announced that iPhone 3G would be available starting July 11, in about 23 countries, and in other 50 countries by the end of 2008.

The first 23 countries are:

– Australia (Optus and Vodafone)

– Austria (T-Mobile and Orange)

– Canada (Rogers)

– Denmark (Telia)

– Finland (Sonera)

– France (Orange)

– Germany (T-Mobile)

– Hong Kong (Hutchison Telecom – 3)

– Ireland (O2)

– Italy (TIM and Vodafone)

– Japan (Softbank)

– Mexico (América Móvil)

– Netherlands (T-Mobile)

– New Zealand (Vodafone)

– Norway (NetCom)

– Philippines (Globe Telecom)

– Portugal (Vodafone and Orange)

– Singapore (SingTel)

– Spain (Telefónica)

– Sweden (Telia)

– Switzerland (Swisscom and Orange)

– UK (O2)

– USA (AT&T)

iPhone 3G’s new features include: tri-band HSDPA connectivity (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz), Mac OS X 10.4.10, built-in GPS and A-GPS. It comes in two versions: 8GB ($199 or 130 Euros) and 16GB ($299 or 190 Euros), and will be available in two colors: white and black.
