iPhone 2.0 – a Clamshell ?

According to a recent US Patent Office filing, a Apple’s patent application, described as a “dual sided trackpad”, uncovered that a clamshell version of the iPhone will come up. It’s about half the size of the original candybar version. The clamshell iPhone has two multitouch sensors, a translucent cover with a capacitive. When it’s closed, the phone acts like your current model iPhone. When it’s open, only the bottom part of the phone is touch-sensitive, whereas the top part is just a display. The image above is a Photoshop rendering based on the description.
