Sanyo Katana Eclipse, a new mid to low-end clamshell, is now available from Sprint.
Presented as a multimedia phone, the new Katana Eclipse comes with “40 different lighting effects,” including pulse, echo, blink and multi-color patterns. These can be assigned to messages, incoming calls, playing music and various alerts.
It also brings the following features: a 2 inch TFT internal display with 176 x 220 pixels and 65K colors, a 1-inch external display, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with video recording, internal GPS, Bluetooth, Sprint TV, Sprint Music Store, Sprint Radio, Web and email capabilities, speakerphone, expandable memory and an 840 mAh battery said to last up to 4.6 hours in talk-time mode.

Sanyo Katana LX is now available in Canada via Bell Mobility, the second largest mobile carrier in the country.
The Katana LX is the successor of the Sanyo Katana, it has already been released in the US, via Sprint. Measuring 94 x 48 x 17.8 millimeters and weighing 96 grams, the clamshell packs a 2.0 inch TFT main screen with 128 x 160 pixels and 65K colors, an external, hidden display, a VGA camera, A-GPS, Bluetooth, Web and email capabilities, T9 predictive text input, speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, picture caller ID, calendar, scheduler, personalized menu, an 800 mAh battery capable of offering a maximum of 4.8 hours in talk-time mode and so on.
Sanyo Katana LX comes in three color versions: pink, black and brown. It is available via several online retailers, and costs $249.95, or $199 with a one-year contract, $99 for two years and $49 for three years.
